Our first birthday

Welcome to Havering Museum’s new blog!

Havering Museum is an independent museum in the heart of Romford. It tells the story of the Borough of Havering through images, text panels and objects.  You can read more about us here, find out how to get to us here, and find out when we are open here.

1st June 2011 marked one year since Havering Museum opened its doors to the public for the first time.

Twenty years in the making, the directors, staff and volunteers of the Museum are delighted to have reached the first anniversary of their public opening.

One year on, our Museum’s community continues to grow, and we have decided to start this blog to keep everyone up-to-date with everything that’s going on at the Museum. Check back frequently for posts from staff and volunteers about life behind-the-scenes at the Museum, or you can sign up to automatically receive e-mail updates whenever we post something by using the button on the right.

Of course, a first birthday is not complete without a first birthday party, and on the 1st of June staff, volunteers and supporters gathered to celebrate Havering Museum’s first year:
