Advent Day 14 – Romford Pearly Prince suit, 1960-1990

In the run up to Christmas we’ll show some of the objects added to the Museum’s collection in the last 12 months. These objects will be on display at the Museum until we close for Christmas on 16th December.

This Pearly Prince suit was worn by the son of Peter and Margaret Caulfield, Pearly King and Queen of Romford. It has been altered many times to accommodate a growing boy and was almost certainly made by Margaret herself using the same fabrics and in some cases the same antique buttons as her and husbands’ own suits were decorated.
