Situated in the iconic Romford Brewery Building at 19-21 High Street, Havering Museum is very busy preserving objects which record the long and remarkable history of the borough, making them accessible to a wide audience through exhibitions, events and activities, education programmes, publications, web-pages, Facebook and Twitter.
Apart from being the heritage hub of Havering, the Museum has developed a very strong community identity, taking a pride in the achievements of local people, providing a huge range of opportunities for engagement in its work through volunteering, research projects and many other activities including a programme of events involving care homes, schools and youth organisations.
The Museum is also established as a venue for training courses, meetings for local businesses and organisations by hiring our two rooms, the Exhibition Hall and Learning Zone.
If you are interested why not consider joining one of our friendly and totally committed Front of House or Special Events teams. Simply pick up a Volunteer Application Form from Reception and return it to the Museum. We are open to visitors Wednesday – Saturday 11.00am – 5.00pm (last entry to the Galleries 4.00pm).
